Intel G620 always runs at full speed

I have an Intel G620 running on a Foxconn H67MP-V motherboard with Lion 10.7.4 (EasyDSDT) - I have checked the cpu speed using CPU-X and it shows a constant speed of 2.6GHz even when idle - is there something I should install to enable SpeedStep? If I used a Core i3-2100 cpu would that step down to 1.6GHz when idle or would I have the same issue?

Just a couple of thoughts:

1. Check your bios settings
2. Make sure you're not using any aicpm disabler
3. Use a proper DSDT

4. If you want a more accurate answer, provide us with more info (like what you already did to enable speed step)
