^If your issue with the bootloader is the boot0 error

  • Boot off your USB and enter the OSX installer
  • Open Disk Utility and unmount your system disk
  • Close Disk Utility and open Terminal and enter this
  • Code:
    dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2
  • Now exit Terminal and reboot

The system should boot off the HDD first and show your installation with a countdown bar that is counting down until the system autoboots into Mavericks.

If you've followed the guide to put the bootloader on the EFI partition than you'll change disk0s2 to disk0s1 instead.

Hey, I just purchased the same motherboard. I am looking to do a hackintosh with 10.6 to start, then updage from there. Did you use 10.6 for the initial installation, or start right off with Mavericks?

I'm also getting a i5 4690K Devil's Canyon cpu, 8 gig ram to start. How has your system been so far? Any other issues? I am also installing an LG Blu Ray burner.

Love this site! It's given me the itch to build my own hackintosh, and build another computer!

10.6 is nearly 5 years old now and you'll have a hell of a time trying to run through the upgrade process. Your much newer hardware will probably not work well with 10.6 causing you to waste a lot of time struggling with any unforeseen problems.

Your best bet is to get your hands on a Mavericks or Yosemite.app and create the proper boot materials with Unibeast for Mavericks or Clover for Yosemite.

If you do not have access to an apple computer to obtain Yosemite.app or Mavericks.app, you can find other sources for these things but that's at your own discretion and not supported by the forum.
However, as long as you can get Mavericks to boot and you follow this guide you should be sorted.
