So yeah, take a look at the attached pictures. OS X recognises my Q6600 as a "2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon" and temperatures are much higher than in Windows 7. I'm using the mighty PowerMac G5 cooler (in picture) which is miles ahead of the stock Intel cooler, but temps are not so great. Temps go from 50ºC at light use to 60 or more when running Cinebench. In comparison, idle temps in Windows 7 are around 35ºC.

Any thoughts?

Okay, so I checked temperatures again in Windows and was very surprised with the results. Idle temps are around 5º Celsius lower, more on some cores. But when I ran Cinebench, the temps were actually higher and I got a considerably lower score compared to the ones I got on OS X.

So I guess temperatures are fine, give and take 5ºC, but should I be worried about the fact that OS X thinks the Q6600 is a Xeon?
