integrated graphics with snow leopard

sorry for the nub question, but can I use the Integrated Graphics in the chip with Snow Leopard?
I have searched the forum and there seems to be mixed answers...

Depending on the CPU and Chipset you will have mixed success. If you've got a Sandy Bridge Core i CPU that supports Intel HD 3000, it'll work in Lion.

HD3000- is fully supported by Lion.


If you are sticking with SL then you need a discrete gfx card.
