Installing programs on secondary HDD

I have a spare 3TBXT HDD. Can I install programs like MS Office on the secondary HDD? My main is a Crucial M4 256GB but I dont want to use that. So am I able to install programs on the secondary HDD?

On windows you just create a <Programs Files> directory - Same situation with MAC? Obviously diff structure though.

In Windows you don't create "Program Files" directory, Windows does and makes it the default install/app directory. When you install, for instance MS Office for Mac, you have the option to choose the install location. So if you create a folder on your storage drive called Apps (or whatever), just point to it on the install...
