I've had a perfectly working build running with my outdated Gigabyte H55-USB3 and i5-650. I just bought a Z77-DS3H mobo and i7-3770. Forgive my ignorance, but I thought I could just swap out the motherboards and CPUs, plug everything in and let it run.

I had a kernel panic. Do I need to reinstall OSX, or is there a more simple solution?

well I wouldn't have thought you could just swap it out - on install you set up for your hardware at the time. Maybe you could try using the multibeast settings for the Z77-DS3H if you can boot with your USB?

To make life easier I because I wanted a larger drive I went out and purchased a Samsung SSD 840 Series 120GB.

So now when I try from the beginning and install Mountain Lion from my USB I get a rainbow spinning wheel.

I tried GraphicsEnabler=YES, that gave me the same results of the rainbow spinning wheel.

I don't understand, this was a suggested board because of the ease of install.

I'm not sure if it matters, but after I created the install USB drive I added MultiBeast to use later.

Also, I have a bluetooth dongle plugged in for my keyboard.

Mobo set at optimized defaults with only one change and that was AHCI.

I'm hoping someone has the same build and has it working.

Gigabyte Z77-DS3H F9
F7 - optimized defaults
Peripherals - changed SATA Mode Selection from IDE to AHCI

Intel i7-3770

Crucial 64GB SSD - plugged into blue SATA2

Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 1.5v

Installed UniBeast 2.0.0 with official copy from AppStore of OSX 10.8

Loaded USB in black 2.0

Booted to USB, had to use -x flag to begin install of OSX

Booted and chose OSX, had to use -x flag to finish install and load OSX

Installed MultiBeast - Mountain Lion 5.3.1
Selected USER DSDT & Chimera
At this point I wasn't concerned with internet (using LAN) and audio, I just wanted my build to boot.

I just can't boot without the USB and -x flag.

Please, someone help.
