Installed but flakey

I have a few problems on my first build

the system is.
i5 3570k
ga-z77-ds3h
OCZ vertex 3 SSD
8gb crucial ballistix RAM

1st install would not boot after installation. Booted into safe mode, repaired permissions and all was well.
i have the following problems.
1. SSD is showing 6gb/s connection but negotiated speed of 3gb/s (this maybe the sandforce controller)
2. Can connect via DVI and HDMI but can't change resolution down or get a garbled screen. Only works at highest res.
3. DVI doesn't seem to work with my monitor switch.

apart from that all seems ok.

Any pointers

Well some developments.

Sata cable was Sata 2 and not Sata 3 (now in the right motherboard connector it's showing 6gbs) I feel a right clown.

screen res. still display issues but not if I use the sleep button on my case, sleep wake and resolution changes no problems!

DVI still strange.

New install tonight and see what happens.
