the other day i installed Avid Media Composer 5.5, everything was fine, but then installed version 6.5 without uninstalling 5.5, now my machine won't fully boot.
mobo is Asus X79 Sabertooth. video card is nvidia GTX 285 (mac version).
bootloader is fine. it goes to apple screen, then hangs up & never boots. safe boot doesn't get it to boot. verbose mode comes & goes. it doesn't hang up on anything while text is loading. but then it just never gets to the OS.
if anybody could please help me i'd be stoked. i've been searching everywhere & haven't found any other instances of this happening to anybody else yet.
