Hello,

Or if you have been following my trials and tribulations here - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-of-snow-leopard-full-details-in-post.246425/ - welcome back.

So far I have (at last) managed to install Snow Leopard onto a HP 8200 elite. I have been able to connect to the Apple store and download and install El Capitan.

However I have run into the system protection when trying to install Multibeast by following this thread -https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ported-intel-based-pc.172672/#create_unibeast (Step 5 onwards).

I am using MultiBeast - El Capitan 8.2.3 and the problem is occurring at part 11 of the above post. When I check the logs I get an error stating that I cannot install an unsigned (something) sorry I am not at home at present so cannot give the exact error. Suffice to say this is almost certainly due to SIP.

I have read - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...s-workarounds-and-current-information.170611/ and failed to understand practically all of it.

I have read - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/big-list-of-solutions-for-el-capitan-install-problems.173991/ however it does not appear to offer a solution to a SIP issue.

I am thus stuck (again).

Can someone explain what this part of the security changes workarounds post means, and where exactly it needs to go?

Clover config.plist:
Code (Text):
<key>RtVariables</key>
<dict>
<key>CsrActiveConfig</key>
<string>0x3</string>
<key>BooterConfig</key>
<string>0x28</string>
</dict>

Better still can someone point me at a simple step by step solution to get multibeast to install in El Capitan?

I can boot into El Capitan from the USB if I add nv_disable=1 to the boot args, but trying to boot directly into the HD hangs even with this added - probably as the Multibeast install failed.

Thanks in hope.

Many thanks for the reply, however sorry I have no idea what it means, or where to place it. Please can you be a little more specific?

upload your config.plist

Is this on the boot USB stick, or somewhere on the hard drive? I'd guess the former if its needed to boot as I have not been able to boot successfully from the HD yet, however I do not know how to extract it.

This post - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/how-to-edit-clover-config-plist.174320/

mentions editing it but is unclear as to what drive it is located on. If it is the USB then how do I get it off that? Can the USB be read on a Linux / windows computer or even the Hack itself?

Finally I have no idea how to mount an EFI partition or even what one is!

Sorry? I don't understand this comment. All I need is for someone to explain where this config.plist is located, that is what drive it is on. It seems a simple enough question, yet one that instead of gets, what?

Please do not expect everyone who visits this forum and asks for help to have any knowledge of the internal workings of a Mac, or its background technology. The replies have, with the exception of the above one, been welcome but less than clear due to my lack-of-knowledge.

I do not know anything about the internal workings of OSX.
I do not know anything about the internal workings of Clover.

I come from a PC and windows background, in technology, and although I have used OSX a lot in my work and think it is a great OS I do not have a clue how it does what it does.

So please instead of wasting calories with less than helpful, indeed perhaps hurtful, comments can someone just answer the question?

If you install Clover in UEFI mode then the config.plist is located on the EFI partition in /EFI/CLOVER.
If you install Clover in Legacy mode then the config.plist is located on the system partition in /EFI/CLOVER.

I don't understand this comment
It was an observation that you appear to be ill equipped for the task in hand.

One does not just turn up at Everest Base Camp and say "I think I will climb the mountain today".
A degree of preparation is required.

There are many guides here to help you.

@RhubarbMac, there is a bug Multibeast for El Capitan.

You need to change the System date to the same date as Multibeast and then it will build.

I know from memory that Multibeast 8.2.5 I had to use the date 02/06/2016 and it worked. Then change the date back :)
