Hey there, Im new into Hackintosh and my first installation process is always failing, it loads up the apple logo up to about 60% and then my screen gives me a prohibited sign. I have already checked all the BIOS settings and everything is marked correctly. I just cannot find the IO Serial Port Option in the BIOS Settings, anyone have an idea of what Im doing wrong?

Boot your system in Verbose Mode and post a picture of your screen when it freezes/hangs.
At Clover Boot Screen press space bar and select Verbose (-v) and Don't reboot on panic (debug=0x100).

Hey, alright I did what you said and the verbose code looks like a matrix code. I will provide it to you in this following youtube Video :)

I don't have an answer for you... as i have been dealing with this issue for months.
I cannot upgrade from 10.12 to 10.13 because install usb gives same issue.
I thought it was related to NVME drive.. but since i can't even get USB to boot installer.. i'm thinking it might be a bios issue.

Can successfully run my 10.12 install no problem.

"Still waiting for root device".
When installing this means that your USB flash drive cannot be found.
This is usually because the flash drive is in a USB3 port.
If this is the case move it to a USB2 port, if it is already in a USB2 port move it to another and try again.
Repeat until you have tried all USB ports.
Use a USB2 flash drive.
If it still doesn't work you could try another flash drive.
You might also try enabling Legacy on your USB3 ports in your BIOS settings.
If you only have USB3 ports try with your USB flash drive in a USB2 hub.
Make sure Fast Boot is not activated in your BIOS.

May require USBInjectAll.kext in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/.
May require XHCI-200-series-injector.kext in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/.
May need PMHeart’s patch for 10.13.4+ to remove XHCI USB Port Limit to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist.
May need PMHeart’s patch for 10.13.6 to remove XHCI USB Port Limit to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist.

Hey BreBo,

Just wanted to say thanks for this post.
I was stuck on Sierra because i just could NOT install High Sierra.
Kept getting the matrix screen like (prohibit sign) and assumed it was due to the NVME drivers i had installed.
I did not know how to proceed.

When you suggested it was the USB issue.. i moved the install usb to USB2 port and it worked.
Still had some other issues to address.. but you removed the roadblock that had me stuck for many many MONTHS.

Now running on High Sierra.
I may try getting around to fixing iMessages issue one of these days. Hehehe.

Cheers
Chris
