UPDATE: Have installed using 10.6.7 and it works, I was using 10.6.0 install disk, which contains the secondary PCI IDE channel is disabled bug, apparently it was fixed in 10.6.3

Good Day to You All.
I am trying to Install SL Retail on my Sony SZ Laptop. But I cant get to the SL Installer. IBoot seems to do its job but i get a Kernal Panic while loading the SL Installer. I believe the reason is due to the fact that the secondary PCI IDE channel is disabled.
This seems to be a known problem with some laptops as documented here :-

The above link also provides a solution in the form of a replacement kext but how can i use this during a install using iboot ?
I don't have access to a mac and opening the osx iso in poweriso only seems to allow access to the windows part of the image not the mac side ?
Is there a solution to this quandary ?
I am new to the hackingtosh world so please excuse if this is a dumb question
Cheers all
