But they are buggy. They will make your computer unstable. I use as I have no choice on that laptop currently. You are best off replacing the PCIe card, both from a stability standpoint and user experience.

Remove nvidia kexts (NVDA*, Geforce*). Then use Chimera3 (install it to USB).

Hey, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm having the same issue: the IOBluetoothHCIController error when I'm trying to boot to my USB drive.

Try:
IGPEnabler=N GraphicsEnabler=N -x -v dart=0 UseKernelCache=N -f

I followed this advice, and I still get the same result (see pic).
Any help on the next step?

Added info: Unlike OP's, my machine is not a laptop. It used to run mavericks just beautifully, then it stopped. Now it runs nothing. :
