Insanely cheap first time build! Advice on componants please

Hi all

I've built PCs before, but this will be my first Hack! Looking to use these componants to try & build a very simple & extremely cheap system -

Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2-B3 H61 Socket 1155

Intel Pentium G630 2.70GHz Socket 1155

Samsung SH-222BB 22x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Optical Drive

Kingston 2GB DDR3 1333MHz i5 Memory Module CL9 1.5V

p.s. already have a decent SATA HD & case/PSU/Mouse/Keys etc

First obvious question, does anyone see any reason why these parts should not work together & with OSX?

And secondly, would I need a dedicated GPU? Or could I use the onboard graphics which is what I'm hoping to do?

Really appreciate any advice at this stage! :?

You need at least 4GB RAM and a GPU.
 
Hey thanks for the advice! It might sound stupid but why would I need 4gb instead of 2? And could I not use the onboard graphics?

Oh dear forgive me sorry. The 2GB RAM will be ok. Brain fart. :)

You have a Pentium which has Intel HD gfx which is NOT supported by SL or Lion.
 
Not sure if 10.8 Mountain Lion will Install on Systems having 2 GB of Ram.
Also note: while OS X has a few bad sides compared to many great it has one big issue: it eats RAM alive.

The first thing I thought was 2GB RAM would be penitence and he could have well spent a few more dollars on 4GB OR 8. eBay my friend, eBay!

Damn, I hear you too! This for me is definately a cost cutting exercise! We're talking bare minimums here to get started! Then add things once I get the system working!

BTW would a G210 GPU work ok do you know? Or does it specifically have to be a GT210?
