iMac12,2 → iMac14,2 →→ No more Turbo

iMac12,2 → iMac14,2 →→ No more Turbo/Overclocking

hello,






my i7(3770k) is configured to run at 4.5GHz - and this was working quite fine.


Then 10.10.5 came out and since I have to use Nvidia-Web-Divers I had to change my system definition from iMac12,2 to iMac14,2 (because the webdrivers booted into black screen with 12,2) and won't turbo/overclock any more.

I tried other definitions - like 13,2 (no change) or 15,1 (can't event boot) - nothing worked.


Can anyone help me?



same machine / same biosconfig / same cloverconfig (except system definition):

10.10.4 + iMac12,2 → Geekbench ~17000 (@4,5GHz)
10.10.5 + iMac14,2 → Geekbench ~13000 (@3,5GHz)

as always … I just have to ask and then I'll find the solution myself (after trying about 1k different things):


after increasing the CPU voltage in BIOS, turbo/overclocking is working on my machine again with system definition iMac14,2 like it did with iMac12,2 without leaving cpu-voltage at default.

one more thing…

I only need to enter the default value for cpu-voltage to make turbo/overclock work again (so no higher voltage and not leaving this setting on 'auto', but I have to enter what would already be take as default-value).
