Hello KGP,

I am an extreme novice when it comes to this and I seem to be having an issue early on in this process.
I'm attempting to complete step -B.1.2) MSR 0xE2 register unlock for OSX Kernel Write.
When I try to run cmd cd and drop the "UEFIPatch_0.3.9_osx" directory on your Desktop into my cmd. It says that the path syntax cannot be found.

I am really sorry to bother you with such a basic procedure, but could really use your help. thank you in advance!

Bad user application. Carefully read and follow instructions.

Hello KGP,
You forget to add "0" at the end of the performance patch it took me a while to get work for my system on the latest beta (18C48a).

The one that worked great for me:

Code:
EIST Performance fix by @PMheart for 10.14.2 10.14.2 Beta 3 (18C48a)

Hey Kgp,

I recently noticed that my cpu is clocked at 4.2Ghz and when I run CineBench or Geek Bench. The CPU draws about 0.68 to about 2 watts and the CPU only reaches 3.49~3.50Ghz.

I have updated my profile to reflect this x99 build.

I also noticed that in the "About Mac" section I can see my ram clocked at 2666Mhz.

Screenshot 2018-11-23 at 15.26.28.png

Although In GeekBench I get 0Mhz Clock rate ?

During GeekBench benchmark:

Notice the above scores don't come close to your 6950X results.

CineBench Benchmarks:

I have attached my entire EFI Folder (removed all the serial keys etc).

If you have the time, could you have a look at my EFI folder and check for anything that could be causing this problem.
I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again.

1.) Your EFI-Folder is a mess and you did not follow at all my guidelines. No surprise that nothing works as expected.

2.) Use EFI-Folder attached below. I assumed that your MSR is locked. Correct me if it is unlocked.

3.) Yet you have to create a truncated 15-port XHC USB kext for the Asus Rampage V Edition 10 by following my respective guidelines. Once you have the latter kext, it would be nice to implement it in my XHC USB kext library.

Good luck,

KGP

Thanks for your reply.

  1. I had a feeling my EFI Folder was in a mess, I tried sorting it out but every time something stopped me from booting. So I left it as is. Until now.
  2. To my knowledge I created a patched Bios and updated using Bios Flashback. I'm not sure if that is enough to unlock the MSR?
  3. I never tried that as of yet. Could you lead me in the direction to creating the truncated 15-port XHC USB. Sure once completed properly ill gladly upload it here for you.

I have now merged an implemented your EFI that you have uploaded, Everything seems to be fine booting wise.

Weird thing I found:
  • CPU Locked in at 1.19GHz on load or basically anything.
  • Unable to sleep.
EDIT: Apparently it now sleeps. will update again.

Any ideas ?
Could it be the removal of VoodooTSync ?

ad.2) Did you update the CPU microcodes in your BIOS firmware as outlined in Section B1.1.1) if my guide? Without the microcode update OC won't work. If your MSR is unlocked, you can uncheck KernelPM and disable xcpm_core_scope Kernel patch in your config.plist.

VoodooTSC has just been replaced by TSCAdjustReset.kext.

For sleep/wake functionality, properly adopt and implement System SSDTs from respective Github repository.

Good luck,

KGP

I was unable to do the microcode update as I do not have windows. I am going to install it tonight and have a go at the micro code update.

I am going to test the KernalPM unchecked and without the XCPM Kernal patch.

Just Booted up without KernelPM.

That would mean the MSR is unlocked?
