FYI: I created a bootable 10.13.1 USB flash drive with UniBeast 8.0, but it wouldn't boot my computer. In Verbose mode, a stack trace would scroll off the top of the screen then it would say "Attempting system restart...MACH Reboot". In Safe Mode, it would display "Error allocating 0x3136 pages at 0x0000000000c96000 alloc type 2", "Error loading kernel cache (0x9)", and "Boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting..." then hang.

I was able to fix this by mounting the EFI partition on the flash drive, then editing config.plist to drop the MATS and DMAR tables. See https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/immediate-backtrace-crash-on-install.232279/page-2#post-1586538 for details.
