Any ideas when an Iboot that will work with Lion is coming out? I had Lion working perfectly and then I created a new partition but forgot to rerun multibeast to reinstall the bootloader. So now I can't boot into Lion. I had some troubles getting Lion to work and don't really remember what I did to get it to work. I don't want to risk starting from scratch and loose a working install.

Edit: Or is there a way to install the bootloader any other way?

Thanks

I also need a iboot for Lion i am stuck in a never ending reboot after installing lion gets to apple logo and reboots and now i have no way to get back up and running

please tonymac / macman helps us out lol

Bump This I cant get into my install

Same situation here, please what can i do???? I'm typing these from win 7 so please we need help!!!!!!!!

I used to most recent iBoot just to boot off the Snow Leo install disk and worked in terminal from the install program.

same i have to wait until we get an iboot for lion before i am going to install

i need to do a clean install

will wait until tony gets us one :)

Technically once you have created the installer partition for lion from a snow leopard install as explained in the Xmove article on the tonymac forums and then used multibeast to install latest chimera as your boot partition you should be able to install a fresh copy of lion by formating the snow leopard part of you hard drive. if you wish to completly whipe your snow leopard hard drive just create the installer partition on another hard drive or flash or external HDD only issue here is that the complete format of you HDD would whipe the boot partition too.

I followed this guide on setting up Lion from scratch (completely blank HDD)
http://ig33kstas.com/2011/07/install-ma ... ackintosh/

Note: Part 1, Step 9 has a typo (there are MANY typos in the guide!)
Code:
chown -R 0:0 FaksSMC.kext

Should be:
Code:
chown -R 0:0 FakeSMC.kext

The most important part to follow is "Phase IV: Finalizing and Fixing stuff"
Without FakeSMC.kext, the new Lion install will fail to boot with iBoot.
FakeSMC.kext should be in the S/L/E of the installer partition (aka, "Mac OS X Base System.")

Good luck!

Edit: Instead of "Phase 2. Installing iBOOT," you can format an extra USB in Disk Utility as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), and then use the Chimera Stand-alone installer to install Chimera onto the extra USB.

Of course if you cant boot into Lion, you can always use iBoot and the SL DVD to get access to terminal and download/transfer FakeSMC.kext that way.

Good luck!

BTW installed from a 8gig USB Drive.

Copy of the FakeSMC.kext I'm using... (14.05.2011 | Revision 493. Made by mojodojo)

I think that iBoot NOT from tonymac because I see
Code:
Phase 2. Installing iBOOT

Option I: If you have Windows Installation on same PC

1. Boot into your Windows installation (on same PC where you wish to install the Mac OS Lion) and extract the iBOOT, run the installation from iBOOT_SetupToolBeta.2.exe

WTF? iBoot has .exe too? I Remember it has .iso only isn't it?

iBoot 3.1.1 will NOT work for Lion
Use Chimera standalone to make a bootable USB (formatted OS X Journaled first).
or, make iBoot USB: Step 3: Installing iBoot
