i7-3770K @ 4.2GHz Max Load Temps 68 degrees?

Hello Overclockers,

I've got my Hackintosh overclocked to 4.2Ghz and reached a max load temps of 68 degrees after 15 hours with Geekbench's stress test. My CPU is an i7-3770K air cooled with a Noctua NH-D14 in a Silverstone FT03 case.

How do these temperatures look? Should I change anything or be concerned?

The temps seem to be on par with what my friend that went to ivy. To bad for these chips because if intel hadn't had changed the thermal dynamics they'd be great. My sandy (2600K) at 4.5 gets 64 cpu temp. I hope they do better with Haswell.

Just a little update with a ambient room temp of 76F my Mac is running very stable with a max temp of 68C @ 4.2GHz for 24Hrs straight with Geekbench stress test. I should have no problems running like this 24/7/365 from what i've been reading online.

What is the max I could be running this CPU on a regular 24/7/365 basis?

Hey Robert. Wouldn't sweat those temps at all. At 4.2 I get 'bout 62 using a H60. I push the 70 mark at 4.5, and 76 at 4.7 using stock voltages. Thinking your cool, no pun intended.
