Wicked! Thanks for the tip, I would not have thought about the RAM position (this is the PC I've built in ~8 yrs).

32 bit score is up to 12,899
64 bit score is up to 14,096!!

Thanks everyone.

Curious is you managed to get AirPlay working? For the life of me I cannot, and I see no point in using the Intel integrated graphics when I have a sweet GeFore GTX 560Ti.

This post is making me feel good. Mine at stock 3.5GHz is 17,754. I was worried that it should be higher.

wow and how??

There's got to be something else going on here. That's faster than a 2600k at 4.5 ghz and about the same as a stock 3930k.

I reckon you have got some kind of auto boost going on which is affecting you blck somehow, or even just your multiplier.

Have you used hardware monitor to check the real frequencies during geekbenching?

Otherwise that's a world record for that chip.

My most recent is a respectable 14541. It's probably not a record, but it'll still smoke a $5000 Mac Pro (once you include all the add-ons I have like 500GB SSD and 27" Apple LED Monitor ) so I'll take it and be happy. :)

(It's also stock.)

IT's because he's using the 64bit version of geekbench.

To get 17700 he also has to be running at about 4.6 GHz, not at stock clocks as he says. 4.5 GHz overclock that I use only makes about 17000 with 64 bit version.
