I upgraded my hack to a Asus ROG Strix z790-a gaming wifi d4, which uses the z790 chipset and Intel's i226-V ethernet controller. I used @CaseySJ AppleVTD settings below and it has connectivity, but it's only at half-duplex. If I take it off Auto, and set myself it doesn't connect.

Enabling AppleVTD requires the following (every item below is necessary):
  1. Kernel --> Quirks --> DisableIoMapper --> check off (affects macOS only)
  2. ACPI --> Add --> SSDT-DMAR.aml --> check on (affects all operating systems)
  3. ACPI --> Delete --> DMAR --> check on (affects all operating systems)
  4. BIOS Setup --> VT-d --> Enabled
I am assuming that either something has to be spoofed or a custom firmware has to be used, idk. Anyone else use I226-V?.

Following for answers, i can't even get it to show up in Big Sur 11.7.2.
What OS you running?

Update: It's still at half duplex but I have figured out that the OS is recognizing i226 correctly. The system report shows the Vendor as 0x8086 and the Device as 0x125c, which is accurate according to the Linus Kernel Driver Database.

I figured it out. The ethernet worked fine on my USB efi but not on the SSD efi so I changed the SSD to match the USB. This included removing the DMAR delete from @CaseySJ i225 post, adding 4 ACPI patches, updating the device properties with the name as a STRING, disabling AppleALC, enabling UseRawUUidEncoding on SMBIOS, and enabling a few Quirks in UEFI. Not sure what truly fixed it though.

I have a similar setup , took me a while to figure it out now ethernet working after removing all kext and all boot flags
BUT
having a hard time getting the PC to "completely" sleep
it goes to sleep but keeps fans on and some LEDs and makes a clicking sound....
Any Ideas, I am thinking its a BIOS setting, becouse I tried W11 and it sleeps /wakes just fine

My sleep has been working thanks to @MrMinimizer thread and this post https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...d4-w-i7-13700k-cpu.322856/page-3#post-2349888
