HP ProBook 4540s best wifi card?

I am using the latest version of BTFirmwareUpdater posted by nguyenmac (BTFirmwareUploader_v2.6beta3).

I don't seen that nguyenmac had published a new version of PBI. I will try the new version right away.

I patched with the new PBI 6.2.4 but the problem on BT is still there.

In system profiler, "connectable" shows "No" and "discoverable" shows "off". Tried to pair a Apple Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard but the bluetooth manager just keep searching.

Strage, the firmware should be 5575 cause the kext uploaded the new firmware to your BT device. YOu should go to author's website (I have a link in the info section of PBI) and report problems.

After wake up from sleep an error occurred and the firmware is not update. Directly from boot is ok: 5575

I tried to post the issue in the author's site, but no answer at this moment

(thanks for the link, I'm sorry but I could not reply to your PM because I have less than 75 posts)

So I'm just going to bump this thread instead of making a new one because I have a related question.

I'm looking for a wifi card, without bluetooth. I just don't use bluetooth.

Even though this one is produced by Dell, will this work fine in the 4540s?

http://www.amazon.com/BCM43224-Wireless-Broadcom-BCM94322HMS-802-11a/dp/B00LR6AXJO

I just want to be sure that I get the correct one.

Also, I didn't see in the installation guide on how to install one of these cards - do they just plug and play or is there a process I have to do in order for it to work?

Or is the Atheros one better? I just picked the one up above because it is like 1/2 the price.

I currently have a USB dongle but this thing gives me problems so finally looking to upgrade to an actual wifi card.

Thanks.

There are WiFi recommendations here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-mavericks/112383-guide-install-mavericks-clover-bootloader.html

I purchased an AR5BHB92 (AR9280) for $5.99 shipped.

Yeah that is where I got the 2 I mentioned in my post from.

Where did you find that card for $5.99 shipped? That's cheap!

EDIT:

Actually see one here on ebay for that price...

Does this card work out of the box with 4540s without DSDT patching or kexts?
If so, do all AR9280 wifi cards compatible with 4540s like that?
(i mean is it ok to search for a
AR9280 in ebay and buy for my 4540s)

AR9280 is supported natively in OS X.
The 4540s has no BIOS whitelist.
