But I have an OS X retail DVD.
I want to dual boot OS X with Windows 8.

Any advise is appreciated :)

I'm assuming you're contemplating installing Snow Leopard then (the only OS X available on DVD).

What are the specs of your laptop?

It can probably be made to work. You will not be using the Radeon as PC "switchable" graphics are not supported in OS X.

You might want to look at these three links:

All right, I will give it a try when I was ready :) I am pretty busy right now due to learning in the university.

Hmmhh, I had to paid more money for my laptop to get the nvidia card :( I also have this problem with Arch Linux the switchable graphic doesn't work.

OK I have done the instruction you provided. But I still get the KP "ACPI Unable to find driver for this platform... IOPlatformExpert.c"

That is usually indicative of a problem in your DSDT and more often than not, saving a text file (instead of binary AML) as /Extra/DSDT.aml.

Can you boot with DSDT=Null ??

You are right. It seems to be that my DSDT.aml causes a problem

Right now I can't even boot to safe-mode
