CPU
i7 2670QM/HM65
Graphics
HD 3000 + HD 7690M XT, 1920X1080
Mobile Phone
  1. Android
I'm attempting to install Mavericks on an HP Evny 17 3070nr and am getting a white screen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOWmLYcDPuQ&list=UUKEiUU0z0YuXV43lBM_M7yA

I'm using the flags -v cpus=1 to get this far without a kernel panic, I've tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes and IGPEnabler=No as well as PCIRootUID=0 with no avail (-x causes a kernel panic as well even with -v and cpus=1.), this laptop is running the following:
AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT switchable graphics

There is no option in the BIOS to switch the graphics cards to a permanent state either.

Any suggestions?

The noise in the background is me plugging in the mouse as it doesn't pick up the touchpad in the installer.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Can't figure out how to edit the builds thing for signature btw it also added a build by itself, something I didn't specify or save.

All five details requested must be in your profile. Missing screen resolution and chipset. Your Intel graphics should be HD3000.

Resolution and chipset now added to profile, 1920X1080. Also added to signature. Hope that stuff is in the right spot, the build signature thing is still wonky.

You need DSDT patches for HD3000 1080p.

Patches from here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "HD3000 High Resolution"

Place your modified DSDT at /Extra/DSDT.aml on the USB and your eventual HDD install.

As someone whos never used DSDT, I'm stuck, I've got MaciASL installed and the sources running but I don't get how to create a dsdt.aml from the patch itself as I don't have one in the first place.

Edit: Now I'm REALLY stuck, I'm reading about DSDTs and out of what I'm reading I need an install to create a clean DSDT to patch but I can't install because I need a patched DSDT, I'm going to assume I can't just use my virtualized OS X's DSDT because it's saying they are unique to the system even when generated... How am I suppose to patch a DSDT without one to start with?

You need to extract your native DSDT. You can extract on Linux (/sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT.aml) or Windows using a program like RW-Everything.

You don't need to install. Just get the DSDT by booting into Windows or Linux as described above. Then bring it over to your working Mac and patch it with MaciASL. Place it on the USB to /Extra/dsdt.aml.

I opted to burn a Ubuntu Live CD, I've got my DSDT patched but when I try to compile under ACPI 5.0 I get errors:

I can compile fine (only warnings) under ACPI 4.0 however your guide here states ACPI 5.0 as compiler:
https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch/wiki/How-to-patch-your-DSDT

DSDT is located here if you want to take a look, this is without the patch but it gives the same set of errors as the patched version:

Use ACPI 4.0.

The guide you're reading is specifically for the ProBook (your laptop is not a ProBook).
