Hi guys,

I have just purchased a HP Elitebook 8570p and 2570p (2013 models) and am interested to see if it is going to be possible to get any flavour of OSX running on them (preferably the newer the better ;P )

Below is the full spec but in short both laptops have intel core i7 3520M (Ivy Bridge) with HD 4000 integrated graphics....

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated. In the interim im going to keep reading up some more :p

Many thanks in advance.

I'm guessing the best thing to do is to try follow the universe tutorial and see if I come unstuck.
Would prefer to know if the fundamentals such as graphics (hd 4000) and sound will work before I go wiping my windows installation ;)

You could just partition the drive and try so you don't lose anything. Use Disk manager to shrink them create logical 30G drive...etc

These might be a lot like an HP 4540s. You might visit the ML ProBook forum and look at the guides there...

If I was you I'd extract the system DSDT first, just to see if the ProBook patches for 4x40s apply...

any luck on this?

Hi guys,

I managed to get ML installed, however I can only boot with GraphicsEnabler = No flag set, so the resolution is terrible and I have no QI/CI etc.

If I boot without this flag, I get the white boot screen and spinning cog, and then the screen just goes completely black.

I have tried various methods to get the HD 4000 recognised but failed miserably :(

I have a windows partiion on the same machine. Is there any information I can pull from the windows machine that would help me identify the correct string to inject ? for example.

Thanks

What is the resolution of the screen? You need DSDT patch to get HD4000 working on most laptops (there are other methods, but I prefer DSDT patch).

you can extract your dsdt tables with dsdt editor (there is a windows version), look on insanelymac.com for it.
