HP 8300 optical audio out?

Hi

Is there an audio card I can add to an HP8300 that will give me optical audio output? I need High Sierra or above.

Thanks. Does this give high quality sound? That's my priority, although I also need the optical link as I have an optical cable running underneath the floor to the hi fi amp on the other side of the room.

I use a USB to Toslink adapter. Unfortunately last I checked the $10 one I got from Amazon was no longer available, so I can’t recommend a specific one.

You get the HDMI audio data (not analogue sound) that is transmitted at whatever quality that would normally have.
