hi, i want to run Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my HP. I have installed (iboot ivy bridge + Snow Leopard Retail DVD) it and got allmost everything working. BUT i have problems with video (only resolution is 1024*768), not what it should be (i have the original display, so 1366 x 768). and how to get VGA port to work? i think that the graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 4000.

And only way to get audio running was Voodoo's kext. Read somewhere that it should work with AppleHDA like a charm? what, when and how to install?

Can somebody help me to recommend/find me the right kexts? i am allready desperate. ;) How do i can check out what soundcard is in it?

Snow Leopard has no support for Ivy Bridge CPUs. iBoot Ivy uses a hack where it uses the kernel from ML -- it is meant only as a short term solution to download ML from the Mac App Store for eventual installation of ML, not long term.

In addition there is no support in Snow Leopard for Intel HD4000 graphics.

My suggestion is that you install Mountain Lion instead, or buy/sell/trade your 4540s for a 4530s. One side note: VGA doesn't work even with 4530s on Snow Leopard (only on Lion/ML).
