Not the same problem. That is for remapping the MEI device-id (MEI is on the chipset, in a 7-series system the MEI device-id must be changed from 1e3a(7-series) to 1c3a(6-series)). We already do that with a DSDT patch. Your problem is your MEI device is missing.

I don't think it is a BIOS issue. I think it is a hardware issue... likely a bad chipset or bad BIOS flash (eg. no MEI firmware?)

If you haven't tried flashing a new BIOS, you should certainly try that, but I wonder if it is failing simply because the MEI device can't be found... Not sure really... does the MEI device not show up because there is no firmware, or can the firmware not be flashed because the MEI device is not present?

What ver of BIOS do you have in your HO probook?

I was looking for a solution on the internet and i've found this post from INTEL site
