HP 350 G1 clover Yosemite post install advice please

Well, I did follow the "Yosemite install on hp laptops with clover uefi" guide, to the letter.

However, with my HP 350 G1, when I path/repatch the DSDT with HP Probook installer, I get the message:

1- you haven't pressed F4
2- you haven't selected the right main model-specific patch

So I figured I had to build the patches for the battery and the sound (IDT 92HD95) myself.

And maybe fix some other things too, though without a checklist, it is hard to tell what works and what doesn't.

Regarding the battery, do you think I should try:

- "battery_HP-ProBook-4x0s-G1.txt" (even though my computer is a HP 350);

- patchmatic;

- or apply the manual method you described in your "How to patch DSDT for working battery status" guide?

You should instead press F4... (note: F4 on your computer is likely Fn+F4).

Ok, so I tried F4 and Fn + F4. It did not display or acknowledge anything.

Anyway, I still tried to use the Probook installer to patch the DSDT, but it gave the warning:

1- you haven't pressed F4
2- you haven't selected the right main model-specific patch

There is no acknowledgement. Follow the instructions carefully.

Well I did this:

1. Boot to Clover from HDD, press F4 at Clover screen.

2. Boot to your OS X Yosemite. Run HP Probook Installer and install with these options:

Config and DSDT patcher:

- ProBook model: 4xx G1 (even though my model is 350 g1)
- Fan behavior: Readings only
- Display type: low resolution

After making your selections, click 'Continue' and allow the ProBook Installer to work.

I know the ACPI files are created in origin, as I posted them in this very thread a few days ago.

However, the installer gives me the warning that either:

1- you haven't pressed F4
2- you haven't selected the right main model-specific patch

Couldn't it be that the model-specific patch is the wrong one, as my model is 350 G1? Isn't my model too recent?

You should post troubleshooting files per instructions in the guide.

When I choose 4xx g1, I get the message:

1- you haven't pressed F4
2- you haven't selected the right main model-specific patch

2- is probably right (I have a 350 G1, which cannot be selected, so I select 4xx g1) while 1- is false: I did press F4 at clover screen.

I have no battery status and no sound (IDT 92HD95).

I am willing to try hard and make it work, either by hand or by patchmatic.

Regarding the battery, should I try:

- "battery_HP-ProBook-4x0s-G1.txt" (even though my computer is a HP 350);

- patchmatic;

- or apply the manual method you described in your "How to patch DSDT for working battery status" guide?

And what is the easiest method to get the sound working with IDT 92HD95?

Please do not answer that I should press F4 at clover screen :)

Thank you,

Manube

Your ACPI tables are very differently from supported models, that's why...

Hello nguyenmac

Thank you for your answer.

Do you think I should forget about installing Yosemite on the hp 350 g1?

Or can I make it work by using patchmatic to create a custom DSDT, that I would then place in EFI/clover/acpi/patched?

Even though I am not experienced with DSDTs, I am determined to make it work.

But I need someone to point me in the right direction.

Thank you

You should treat it like any other laptop and fix problems one by one.
