I'm looking at a hp 2710p as a possible hackintosh.

Here are the specs:
Either a Intel Core 2 Duo ULV Processor U7600 (1.20 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB) or a Intel Core 2 Duo ULV Processor U7700 (1.33 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB)

Mobile Intel GM965

Intel GMA X3100

Anyone with more experience than I think its possible? I'd prefer OSX Lion.

Ok. I have a spare one of these around and I started to attempt to install via unibeast, but after selecting the USB as the boot device and then selecting to boot from USB using chameleon the screen goes black and then it just does nothing. I've let it sit for 5-10 minutes, but nothing happens. I know the unibeast drive I have works because I literally just used it to build a hackintosh desktop. Any thoughts?

If you want to go down the Lion route you'll need to specify arch=i386 for the installer and then install a 32-bit boot plist with MultiBeast as it doesn't ship with a 64-bit X3100 driver.

Did you ever get your 2710p to work if so any tips?

im installing mountain lion (now) in the 1st version of the computer ( 1 of 3 versions ) of hp 2710p without the support laptop enabled in the unibeast drive
so far no problems

How i have one of these with leopard but i want to upgrade
