How to Unstretch the Chameleon Boot Screen

Editing the width and height entries in the theme.plist file will not give you resolutions that are not present in your card's VESA mode table.

Sure, just reinstall chameleon from multibeast.

That's exactly what it's supposed to do. You can also try this to get a bigger view:

"For best results, add your card's highest VESA resolution to com.apple.Boot.plist. It must be in it's own key, not on the 'Kernel Flags' line. It should look like this:
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1280x1024x32</string>
If you omit this step, you'll probably get 1024x768, so be sure to use the highest resolution that you can.
"

But it will still be centered in the middle of the screen. It's just a workaround. The best solution is if the video card supports your LCD's native resolution. I'm trying to edit my VBIOS so that it supports 1920x1080.
