How would I do it from a time machine backup?

I upgraded to 10.7.4 and its giving me problems, so I would like to revert to 10.7.3.

your best way is to re install 10.7.3
reinstall apps(app stor is quite forgiving in this respect)
use time machine for your data(only)
i feel your pain

I've tried to restore apps from time machine some work some don't so be aware..
good luck..

Complete reformat?

My time machine will be able to restore all my files right?

yes thats the way to go
I've used time machine its great to recover documents and files(all)..
its just iffy on apps
i open the backup folders manually and get my files(time machine volumes)

You can return to 10.7.3, with OS X Lion Installer from Mac App Store 10.7.3 and Unibeast, target your current hard drive without format.

The last time i download OS X Lion from mac App Store it was 10.7.4

Thanks, I can get 10.7.3. Once at the installer, which option do I pick? The one that creates an old user folder from whats currently installed? Or is there another better option?
