How to have front panel audio without cutting out rear audio?

I would like to have output signals coming from out of the rear panel and front panel simultaneously. Under Windows, I can simply untick the "Disable rear audio when front panel audio is plugged-in" option on the Realtek driver and it works like a charm. Is there some way of achieving the same thing in OS X?

Currently, the default action on my CustoMac 10.8.2 is to cut out rear audio as soon as I plug in my headset in to the front audio panel on the casing. Any way to over-ride that action?
