My monitor is AOC U2870VQE, that can up to 3840x2160 resolution.
Cable is DisplayPort 1.2, I can get 4K@60Hz in Mac and Windows.
GPU is AMD R9 290non-X(reference design).

I can get 3840x2160, but the font is too small.
So, how to enable HiDPI mode like retina macbook pro?

Select "Best for display". However - it should downscale to 1920x1080 and that display mode is missing in your monitor.
You might need to inject a custom EDID if that resolution is supported by your display.

Thank you for answer.

I try to get EDID from windows, and make a EDID folder/file into

/S/L/Displays/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-5e3/DisplayProductID-2870

Code:
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>[/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<plist version="1.0">[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<dict>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<key>DisplayProductID</key>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<integer>10352</integer>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<key>DisplayProductName</key>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<string>Fisher Wei U2870</string>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<key>DisplayVendorID</key>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<integer>1507</integer>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<key>IODisplayEDID</key>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]<data>AP///////wAF43Ao+QQAACMYAQOAPiJ4Ku7RpVVImyYSUFS/7wDRwLMAlQCBgIFAgcABAQEBBHQAMPJwWoCwWIoAbVUhAAAaVl4AoKCgKVAwIDUAbVUhAAAeAAAA/QAXUB5jHgAKICAgICAgAAAA/ABVMjg3MAogICAgICAgAeI=</data>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]</dict>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#29F914][FONT=Andale Mono]</plist>[/FONT][/COLOR]

And now, I can get 1920x1080 HiDPI, but only 30Hz. non-HiDPI resolution can get 60Hz.
Where was wrong in my file?

Sorry, I resolved 30Hz issue.

I used wrong EDID.

In Windows, I used HDMI and DP1.2 two cable to connect GPU and Monitor,
So, there are 2 EDID file in Windows, I used HDMI version, so, I only can get 30Hz.

After replacing by DP1.2 EDID, I can get correct resolution in Yosemite.

Many thanks.

I used the EDID you posted in this thread and it worked to get me the 2560x1440 resolution. However, I was wondering if you could post your final EDID with the additional HiDPI options so I can try that one also.

Thanks,
