how to enable national symbols in OS X 10.9.3?

I don't know if I chose the right place to post it, but I installed OS X with Clover. Everything seems to be fine, except the fact that I can't write any special letters from my alphabet, like ą, ł, ę, ó, etc. My language is set to polish, but when I press alt+a to get ą, nothing is written, but "Edit" button in the top menu gets blue for a second. How can I fix that? I also can't copy anything using my keyboard. How can I set Windows button as CMD and arrange other buttons?

Sys Pref > Keyboard > Modifier Keys...
