I just purchased an apple cinema display 24" with USB speakers in it. Unfortunately the audio sometimes cuts out. I am trying to brain storm solutions. one idea was to delete the Gigabyte audio Kexts and see if that helps the display speakers work better since then the only audio device on the computer should be the display itself (right?)

So I need to go to system/extensions and delete Alc8xxHDA and AppleHDA rollback.

Anything else needed to completely disable the onboard motherboard audio? To reinstall I just run multibeast again correct?

Hi,

You should delete the injector (Alc8xxHDA) and extract the vanilla (original) AppleHDA from the version you are running (i.e. 10.7.3 Comboupdate) using pacifist (google = friend). The HDARoll-Back replaces this with a 10.6.2 version (if i'm not mistaken)

Then the audio from the Cinema Display should work (but not your onboard gigabyte soundcard doens't)

Hope this works for you.
