Hmm, success with installation from usb drive and EFI with OpenCore 0.6.1. Standard upgrade from the system failed. After reboot, the installer couldn't find any APFS drive to upgrade. I had to use Time Machine to restore Catalina.
Finally, I made USB installation disk and tested OC EFI again on Catalina. I used
OC-Gen-X.app to generate config.plist. Really awesome software - it worked perfectly.
The rest were some cosmetic changes like GUI for booting.
Remember about proper boot arguments! Also it is worth to remember about copying the same serial numbers as they were in Clover config.plist.
System (beta 6, 7, 8, upgrades on a fly) seems to work faster. Booting time faster than in Clover.
I am not the first to say, OpenCore is the future.
