This is probably a really dumb question but I now have Snow Leopard and Mavericks running on the same SSD, and if I'm not quick off the mark then SL loads up.

Is there a way to change the default OSX so that I don't have to keyboard interrupt every time I boot?

Yes you can change the amount of time the Chimera boot screen displays.

The default MultiBeast time is 2 seconds. To change the time from the default "2" to your choice navigate to Extra /org.chameleon.Boot.plist. There you will find the Timeout setting. As I said the default is 2. If you change it to 0, the boot screen will stay open until you select the drive to start.

< key>Timeout</key>
< string>0</string>
