Has anyone had success with three displays with the XFX 6870? I've read that I can't do it with the 2 DVI's. I've tried HDMI, MiniDiplayPort and DVI, but I could get only 2 of the of the three to work. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Joe

I have the ATI Sap 5870, I have three monitors working only the GraphicsEnabler=No, You must use a Active Display Port adapter on one of the three monitors. This is well documented on the ATI website, its the same for Windows users. I have heard that the new boards don't require a Active port and a passive adapter will work instead.

I am having the same issue, trying to get the third monitor working when graphicsenabler=yes.

I have seen a few posts about users getting the third one to work but they did alot of programming to change profiles and the way the ports are being assigned, by the card. That is over my head, so I am waiting to pay someone to help me on this issue. Sorry I can't be more help.

Bottom line haven't seen to much help on this issue, I am hoping Mountain Lion release will address this....:)

I've gotten three monitors running on a 6870 using the the DVI and two Accel active mini display port adapters. GraphicsEnabler =Y works for me. The Accel adapters are spendy but they do work.

Thank you for your post, doof...:) I was hoping to hear that someone got it to work with a second active Display adapter to get all three monitors working, going to order mine 2 one tonight,

I am sure its the same for the 5870's, if it's not..... I'll just send it back

Thanks.

Thank you all for your feed back. I tried a Apple and Rockfish miniDisplayPort at the same time, with no luck. I wonder what it is about the Accell MiniDisplayPort that makes it work. Again, thanks for the feedback, if anyone else has ideas please share them..

Hi Joe,

The key word is "Powered Active Displayed Port with a USB" they are expensive, amazon has them on sale for around $90. USD.

Just ordered mine tonight should have it by next Monday I'll let you know how it turns out.

Hi puebionet,
I have something a Diamon-BVU-195 USB-Display Adapter that I'll try tonight. http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-BVU195-US ... B002GHBW4S. I'll probably buy the Accell as well. What did you buy?

I bought the Accels because they were certified by ATI. They were around $40.US each when I got them. I think they are a little cheaper now.

This is what I'm using:
Accell B087B-006B UltraAV Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified (Black)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004071ZXA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Accell B086B-002B UltraAV Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Cable
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041OEQA6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01

I did have to fiddle with it to get all the displays to come up and FCP wouldn't use the third display for video monitoring.

I have verified the Diamond-BVU-195 USB-Display Adapter http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-BVU195-US will work after installing the drivers. I had this on hand because i use it for my macbook pro. I've ordered the Accell B087B-006B UltraAV Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified.

HI there,

I ordered a Accell UltraAV B087B-002B DisplayPort/DVI-D Dual-Link Adapter (Black) from Amazon, I have one already, and it works well, so hopefully two of these guys will solve my issue, It has a delivery date of next Wednesday, I will post how it works....
