It is apparently a bug some have after updating to 10.10.2. To remove the numbers and bring back 'OS X Yosemite' you have to change your primary language. If you use English now, try to change your primary language to English UK instead. Restart the computer and 'OS X Yosemite' should appear in 'About This Mac'.

Please notify if it worked or not.

Did not work , but I did fix it by editing my com.system profiler.plist , thanks for response though

It should work. I forgot to mention that for some it has been necessary to choose English Canada as primary Language, instead of English UK. But nice to see you got it solved anyway.
