I'm having trouble installing VooDooHDA. Ive downloaded the official package from SourceForge and it says it installed successfully. However, the only thing it seemed to have installed was the app called VooDooHDASettingsLoader. No kext was installed to my extensions folder and there is no preference pane option.
So I looked into installing in manually with all the components. I tried to install the preference pane first but it says, "“VoodooHDA” preferences is installed with OS X and can't be replaced."
The reason I want VooDooHDA is because when I plug directly into my motherboard's headphone jack, I get a lot of white noise with it. I was going to try and lower the gain using VooDoo. The white noise goes away when I mute it, and there is no issue with the noise if I use a USB adapter.
