I had a successful install and setup: OSX 10.6.8 up and running fine.
Multibeast got audio and network working. great! but...
I overclocked to 4.1 using gordo's method. again all fine. installed apps, was running great.

Along the way I lost audio, so I tried to get it working again thru Multibeast.
System hangs on startup (grey apple screen)

I am trying to start again from the beginning, booting from iBoot Legacy as I did before, but I get an error:

"DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

The iBoot disk is OK, since it worked before. I burned a new disk just in case, still no dice.

What did I do? Can't seem to even go back to square one and get this system running at all!!

If you can't even boot from the CD and the drive is working, then you have done something to the motherboard settings that is preventing it. The OC settings are too aggressive or something is messed up there. I would disconnect the hard drive, reload optimized defaults, cmos reset, reflash the bios if you have too, whatever it takes to get it booting from the CD again. Check the DVD drive in another machine. Until then there's nothing else to do.
