I have this card, HighPoint RocketRAID eSATA for Mac (not the 6Gb/s version) in my Mac Pro (early 2008). HighPoint Web Support never give me an answer when I asked whether this card can work in Mountain Lion with their current/latest driver.

Currently, this card work fines with Mac OS X 10.7.5 and I don't want to be caught in a situation where after an upgrade to Mac OS X 10.8.2, the card doesn't work at all.

Any advice? Anyone has the similar card working with Mountain Lion?

Thanks in advance.

Advice? Help? Thanks.

Use Superduper! and clone your current system drive to another scratch drive (spare un-used drive) and reboot to the clone, upgrade the clone to 10.8.2 and the update, check your system and the RocketRaid card for correct function. This way you will know what happens on your system, not what happens on some other system that may or may not be representative.

Good luck
neil

Thanks, Neil. Took your suggestion somehow and tried with a bootable thumbdrive with Mountain Lion installed. Didn't quite work. Anyhow, HighPoint finally came back with a short answer saying the card is supported under 10.8.x Hmm... guess, may have to take the risk.

Ever get this card? I'd be curious to know how it performed...

Thanks!
