So I installed hw monitor and I am over clocked to 4.2ghz with my vcore set on auto. Hw monitor shows my vcore at 1.624 is that bad should I manually set that. In windows with cpu-z I am running at 1.25. Why such the increase?

I run the same temps as in win7 running cpuz, hw monitor is dead on with that and with my graphics card, my mobo shows CPU temp and that also matches win7

At idle shows 38C and I haven't seen it go over 52c, I have yet to get a benchmark on it, waiting for cable internet so i can dnld a stress tester

Why don't you try using offset? Maybe +0.005 up to+0.03V. Auto is not efficient when overclocking. Actually it's never efficient.

1.6 will kill your CPU in a .. well. lets say very fast. For a 4.2GHz over clock you should be around 1.100-1.220. Maybe install the latest FakeSMC + Plugins, because it is showing wrong values.

For example I got my 3770k @ 4.5GHz with 1.16V (but i am very lucky I guess) Temps are little high, because my room is crazy hot. Its about 5-6°C above room temperatur. Under load with prime like 70-80°C.
