Hi there, Ive built a few high spec pc's for Windows OS, but never Mac OS.

As far as i can see ive got to be quite choosey about the hardware. So this is my proposed list, for people to confirm if it would work and also to advise if there is any better options.

Intel i7 3930k (2nd Gen) - (6 cores) - LGA2011 Socket
ASUS P9x79 Motherboard
2 x XFX Radeon HD 6970 2GB Graphics Card
Corsair Dominator 4 x 8GB 1600mhz PC3-1280 RAM
Samsung 840 Pro Series 128gb SSD - MZ-7PD128
WD Veloci Raptor 1tb HDD - WD1000dHTZ
A sata optical drive of one form or another.

In a G5 Case
All hooked upto a LED 1080p Tv

Now please tell me what will not work, or what i could improve!

Thank you very much.

You might want to double check the HD6970 gfx cards - last I checked (been awhile) the 69xx series were not supported.

I have read that it is possible, but it seems a right chew on and isnt very clear, what would be a better option?

Nvidia GTX 5XX or 6XX series. Both work natively.

Just to be clear, you cant SLI or Crossfire in Mac OSX. But you can use 2 gpu's that will just support more monitors and work independently.

correct - OS X ignores the crosfire bridge.
