High end video cards???

I would like to get this card... SAPPHIRE 100315-2GL Radeon HD 6850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 but I don't see any working builds @ 2GBs or more... or any card w/ 2GB that will work... ideas? Thanks

Thanks... Am I mistaken... I thought I saw it somewhere where Radeon HD 69xx are not supported - but that's what the Mac uses.

thats a question i have as well. When you go to a place like macmall to price out a macpro, the best card that i can see is a 5870. Can you actually get a better card than that in a mac?

The 69xx desktop chip is NOT a 69xx*M* chip. A 69xxM chip is actually about a 6770 (Supported) desktop chip.

The best card, statistically, is a 5870. The easiest to find, best bang for your buck is a 6870 (only about 5% less powerful than a 5870, but almost HALVES the power consumption and runs much cooler. Also does better on tessellation). Almost all are supported OOB.

6970m is actually the same chip as 6850, and with very similar performance.

Damn, i wish the new series 7 radeons were supported

Great!!! And thanks for the info... I feel so much better now. I just wish the 2011 MBs were supported so I could use a Sandy Bride E. Before anyone says that is too over the top... I'd also use it for Windows.
