Built my hackintosh today from one of lifehackers recommended builds and sytem is freezing at boot up (gray screen, apple logo and spindle stops). I cloned my hard drive from my Macbook pro and hooking it up as an external hard drive to my Macbook pro I installed multi beast and installed all the correct settings along with the correct firmware version of my DSDT file for my motherboard in the hackintosh and it said install correctly. If I missed anything please let me know.

PNY 8GB (8-GB) (2x 4GB) PC3-10666 1333 MHz DDR3 (DDR-3)
GIGABYTE Z68MA-D2H-B3 INTEL LGA 1155 Z68 MICRO ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i3 2100 - 3.1 GHz Dual-Core
1TB Seagate 3.5" Hard Drive

Cloning off your macbook is not going to work.

You need Lion from the App store, 8GB USB stick and installation of Lion through Unibeast.

Next, you need a gfx card since HD2000 is NOT supported under Lion or SL.

OR

If you do not plan on getting a supported video card and want to use integrated graphics, then you must replace the CPU with one that has HD3000 graphics, which means one of the following : i3-2105, i3-2125, i5-2405S, i5-2500K, i7-2600K or i7-2700K.

will a intel i3-2120 work?

I repeat...If you do not plan on getting a supported video card and want to use integrated graphics, then you must replace the CPU with one that has HD3000 graphics, which means one of the following : i3-2105, i3-2125, i5-2405S, i5-2500K, i7-2600K or i7-2700K.

The i3-2120 has HD2000 IGP.

thank you very much for your help
