Hopefully this should be pretty straight forward. I am just not quite sure where to begin to fix this.

My Original Setup:
CPU: i7 8700K
GPU: GTX 1070
Boot Drive MacOS (High Sierra): Samsung 970 m.2
Boot Drive Windows: Toshiba HDD

My Problem:
So I swapped out my GPU for a GTX 1080Ti and also replaced the Toshiba drive for another 970. After that I cant get past the boot screen. I have a slow loading boot screen with the apple logo and the bar does move but very slowly. It eventually gets full but then gets stuck. I have left it for hours to make sure its just not a very slow boot and it never does boot into High sierra.

What I have tried:
1.
I assumed it was due to the new GPU so I tried booting with nv_disabled, then I tried booting taking the GPU out completely. Nothing.
2. My next guess was the new ssd so I took that out as well and tried both with and without the GPU and the MacOS drive alone. Nothing.
3. I went ahead and set everything up as it was before with the GTX 1070, Toshiba, and the MacOS Drive. Nothing.

I am always greeted with an apple loading screen with a moving loading bar but it never gets past that. I went ahead and booted in verbose mode (this is where I need help since I dont really know whats wrong or how to fix it from here). I noticed the line that says: "Apple NVMe Assert Failed" and I am guessing this is the issue. Hopefully someone can let me know if thats correct and how to proceed. Thanks!

you should disable your serial ports in your bios

Alright! Problem fixed. If anyone else is running into the same issue "apfs_module_start: 1279", at least in my case, was due to me updating my bios. After reverting back to an earlier state, everything is back! If you have a gigabyte mobo like me, according to them updating to an earlier bios say from F14 to F11 (this was my case) is as easy as using the bios app they provide. Hope this helps someone!
