I've got an almost flawless system running software side... but the damn fans are the only thing outstanding... so disappointing.

Am I likely to fry my CPU? The heatsink is huge, but the fan isn't blowing anything onto it?

BIOS should have a page where you can check temperatures.

If all you do is surf the web, the CPU should be fine. Don't do anything intensive like play a game.

But you said the PSU fan was not operating. I would be concerned about it as well.

Amazon contacted me in less than 8 hours and have placed a new order for a replacement mobo. It should be with me in 2 days.

After replacing the MOBO with a direct replacement, it has exactly the same problem. I've managed to get hold of an old VGA monitor and hooked up directly to the Intel HD4000... IT WORKS. I can view the advanced 3D BIOS.

It is clear now that there is compatibility issues with the NVidia GTX 670, the Gigabyte Z77-UD5 3D BIOS and the Apple HD Cinema Display 23". I don't think there is any way to drive the monitor from BIOS.
