Hello,

i am trying to install Catalina on my old PC.
The most is working as ist should but I have the following problems:

1. No Hardware Acceleration with my Radeon 5850.
I have activate injektAti and select the Vendor ID / Framebuffer Uakari. But it doesn't work.
Who can help - is there a guide?
2. Black Frame in MacOs and Clover
I get a black Frame around the desktop - what can I do to get Full Screen.

enclosed my config.plist

Regards

The Radeon 5850 is not supported on MacOS Catalina due to lack of Metal support, Apple's graphics framework.

You will need to replace the graphics card with a Metal supported card (e.g. RX 570 / RX 580 / GT 710 DDR3 or older used cards like GTX 760 / Radeon 7870) if you want to run MacOS Catalina with graphics acceleration.

What is the exact model of the motherboard you are using?

If you really desire Catalina for your old computer, try this:

However, there is only very limited acceleration for Radeon and GeForce cards. You could refer to my experiment for HD 5770.

You have to use VESA mode when installing Mojave or Catalina.
