help me please I am a complete overclock noob!

So I tried overclocking with the Asus software (my board is P8Z77-V Premium, CPU 3770k ) in windows and got it up to 4.8 something, however when I rebooted my Areca 1212 stopped working. So I disabled overclocking and card worked again. Would dearly love to get this rig over clocked, but have only a tiny amount of hack knowledge (this machine was built to order for me).

Can you give me more details:

- Are you only changing the bus speed and not the multiplier?
- Are you using Mulitbeast?
- Are you using SSDT?
- Which bootloader?
- What does your boot.plist look like?
- Using DSDT?

Have you already tried to just overclock it a little bit, what happens then?
